I passed out a survey on animal testing awareness to people at Eastern Market and to my family to see how much they knew about animal testing and their opinions on it. 15 out of 29 people said that there are regulations about companies testing on animals. 1 person said that there were no rules, and 3 people said they weren't sure. 21 of 29 people agreed that animal testing was abuse, 4 said it wasn't and 4 weren't sure. 24 of 29 people said that they would change their views on a product if they knew they tested on animals, 4 said they wouldn't and 1 said they weren't sure. I also asked if they knew of any companies that tested on animals. This was the survey:

At school, I asked people to sign a petition against animal testing. So far, I have 43 signatures. Not only is this a call to action, but it will spread awareness. This is important because not many people know what happens to animals in labs. A petition makes them ask questions. It can also be used to influence companies to change their policies in order to accommodate their customers.
