Animals are being blinded, paralyzed, and experimented on, and it’s completely legal. Animal testing is when beauty products, experimental drugs, poison, and surgeries are tested on animals. It causes them lots of pain, long term injuries, mental problems, and can even kill them. It’s completely unnatural that chemicals are injected into their blood, and to have to endure the long lasting pain of being experimented on. There are no laws protecting the animals, the CEO of the company gets to decide how well the animals are treated.

I went to Eastern market and handed out surveys on animal testing. The results showed that most people that took the survey said that they thought animal testing was abusive. They also said that they would change their views on a brand if they found out that they tested them on animals.
December 2, 2015
I met with Ms.Woodard today and she gave suggestions on how to improve my survey. The suggestions were to add a title and a space to put the date.
December 4, 2015
I asked family members to fill out the surveys, and the results were that 2 of the 5 people asked thought it was abuse. The other 3 said that it was not abuse because “they’re just animals”, or that they’re “sure they’ll do it humanely”.
December 18, 2015
I did more research on what happens to animals in the lab, and I learned that little to no anesthesia is used, and when it’s done improperly, it can cause the animal to be paralyzed and able to feel everything.
January 13, 2016
I met with my advisor today, and we discussed the survey results and possible ways to present.
January 15, 2016
I decided on a website because it will be accessible to all, and there’s no possible way to lose it the day of presentation.
February 6, 2016
I did research on alternatives to animal testing, and I found that there are options. There’s a fake human tissue that is more similar to actual human tissue than animal tissue. It can also replicate human reactions to drugs, surgeries, cosmetics, etc.
March 23, 2016
I started organizing my research into paragraphs to put on my website.
April 8, 2016
I started planning what I’m going to say for my presentation.
May 3, 2016
I ordered wristbands to give to people at school that say “Stop animal testing”.
May 14, 2016
I decided that I was going to bring in my rat for presentation to show that they’re not dirty things that live in the trash.
